REVIEW: CO-Lab Dry Shampoo

IMG_1415I’ve been watching Essie Button and I recall her mentioning the CO Lab Dry Shampoo in one of her favorites products, and I always love her recommendations. The CO Lab dry shampoo in the scent RIO Tropical is what I got, and it definitely smells like the name, which is tropical. It’s a stronger smell so I love that about it because if you have 2nd day hair and you want to refresh the hair it’s perfect in doing so. It’s has a light texture to the spray it doesn’t leave it white, like a lot of other dry shampoos do, such as Batiste.

This product seems similar to the ORIBE Dry texturizing spray which I absolutely love. Expect the price of the CO Lab in comparison to the ORIBE is much cheaper. The ORIBE is around $42 CAD for the big bottle while I paid $7.99 CAD for the CO Lab at Winners. And its roughly the same size so similar in quantity.

If I could recommend a dry shampoo I think this one is definitely better then the famous Batiste at an affordable price for the quantity received.

Leave a comment with your favorite dry shampoo that you like to use and the reason(s).

Must Have Products – April 2015

FullSizeRender (1)I recently went a little crazy and bought some products that I have been using like a mad woman for the month of April. These are some of the products that I would suggest you try yourself.

The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer / $23 / Shoppers Drug Mart – awesome bronzer you only really need a little bit for contouring the face
L’Oreal Infallible Setting Spray / $12 /  Shoppers Drug Mart – awesome spray to spray onto your brushes to get pigmented eyeshadow colours as well for setting the makeup in place.
NYX – Golden Bronze /$1 / Shoppers Drug Mart – beautiful colour gets the smokey eye effect and it looks beautiful on brown eyes but I’m sure its great for all eye colours. Beautiful deep bronze colour. The lasting effect is outstanding and smudges due to its creamy consistency.
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara / $12 / Shoppers Drug Mart – amazing mascara provides volume without clumping at all at least for my eyelashes. Love the look it gave to my eyes made my lashes look outstanding.
Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls Highlighter / $14 / Shoppers Drug Mart – provides outstanding highlight to the cheekbone and anywhere else. Much more loose powder then expected so you need very little amount. I’d say this is best for fair skin because of how light in colour it is.

Those are my favourite must have for the month of April that I used consistently and absolutely loved. Let me know if you tried any of these products and what you thought.

L’Oreal BB Cream Review

IMG_1442
I got the most random purchase a week ago and it’s been the best purchase and the item that I needed for my issue with redness. I don’t have redness from acne but instead I just get red just from movement. It is something rather annoying but I’m happy I got this product. The L’Oreal Anti-Redness BB cream and at first I definitely had my hesitation as to it actually working. But I find that this product definitely helps to reduce the redness, especially for my cheek area. I’d say this product is extremely similar to the Stila One Step Correct but a cheaper version.  But still an amazing product and does the job that its supposed to.  I would definitely recommend this product if you have extreme redness and want to counter act that redness.

Organic Wear & Origins CC

♥♥♥
Origins & OrganicsLow End vs. High End Product

I went to my local Sephora about a couple months ago and did the Skin IQ in the store to see which foundations or cover ups suited my skin tone. Due to the high amount of redness  on my cheeks the Skin IQ recommended the Origins CC Skin Complexion Corrector. Which I absolutely love and it definitely helps reducing the red pigmentation on my cheeks.  The other pro for the Origins product is the fact that it’s so light weight but it covers up the imperfections on my face while evening out the skin tone. Another added bonus is the fact that it is free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates which I find is better because it’s less chemicals on your face.

Now the only issue with the Origins is that face that you do need a lot more of the product to really cover up the redness or pimples you may have, so that means it runs out faster. Especially if you use this product everyday, which I do. The cost of the product was around $44 CAD at Sephora, which isn’t relatively cheap based on the size you get. As well, I find it is hard to get out as much product as possible, which can be rather annoying.

The cheaper alternative that I found is just as good and definitely doesn’t hurt the wallet is the Physician’s Formula Organic Wear (Light to Natural). I tested this product out for the whole day yesterday and really loved the look that it gave to my face and the fact that it was a tinted moisturizer really amazed me. It lasted me the whole day, it didn’t wear off or at least it looked still amazing by the time I took it off at night time. It did it’s job as a tinted moisturizer it made my skin look moisturized and dewy looking, without it being too shiny either. The two amazing things about this product is the fact that you really need a little amount to cover your face and the price was $15 at Shopper’s Drug Mart.

Thus, if you want something that is organic, lightweight with coverage and it helps that its cheaper, then the Physician’s Formula Organic Wear is something to consider.

Let me know if you have tried out either of these products and what you thought about them. I would love to hear your opinions and thoughts. Or maybe alternatives to try out.

Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer Review

♥♥♥

s1433440-main-hero-300

I just recently bought the Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in the shade fair. I bought this concealer at Sephora about a week ago and wore it for New Years Eve celebration, which I think is the perfect time to test it out and see how long it lasted and whether it actually was creaseless. These are just some of my personal views and thoughts on the concealer.

On the Sephora website it states that this concealer is

“long-lasting, full coverage in a creamy, velvety texture with pure skin-soothing ingredients. This high-performance natural           formula is infused with tarte’s pure maracuja oil, which helps to improve skin’s texture, tone, and moisture content while             imparting a brightening, dewy, luminous finish.”Sephora

The key words being long-lasting, full coverage, with a creamy and velvety texture. All of these words I have to definitely agree, and I think it honours what it says. I kept hearing amazing things about Tarte products and I was really happy that all of it was true to it’s words.

At first when you put the product on you think wow this is a really thick product, with a similar thickness to clay. However, once you give some warmth to the product and dab it into the under eye area it works out to be very creamy. The concealer blends rather easily, I would recommend using a beauty blender rather then a brush. But that is just my opinion. I’d also recommend that you warm the product up first before putting straight to the skin.

The texture of the product is exactly as it states which is velvety and smooth and it strictly provides the nice luminous effect underneath your eyes. The reason why I love this product is the fact that for someone who has very dark circles underneath the eyes and veins that show, it conceal it and brightens up my eyes. So that is definitely a plus for this product.

The price is $29 CAD, which is again rather pricy but with any Sephora product it’s hard to find something that is relatively affordable or within a reasonable price range. Now the big question is would I invest money or repurchase this product, I definitely would. Especially since I’ve finally found a product that didn’t crease and provided me with bright eyes.

Let me know if you have tried the Tart Concealer and what your thoughts were or if you would recommend any other concealer that I should try.

Product Don’t

Babylips-maybelline

This post is about a couple of beauty products I’ve tried out recently, and unfortunately was disappointed. These opinions are strictly my own and that does not mean that the product will be the same for everyone else. At the end of the day it’s your decision whether you want to purchase them for yourself and see how they work for you. Each person is different and all products work differently. So to begin…

1. Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner : I did not like this product because it was rather difficult to work with. First, it didn’t go on creamy and it seemed to clump a lot. As well, there were hints of shimmer in the gel which was not indicated on the packaging, and IBenefit Foundation could not tell otherwise since it was closed off. I wanted pure black gel liner, no shimmer what so ever.

2. Maybelline Baby Lips (Pink Punch): Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the scent of the baby lips at all. It felt very plastic and when applied it didn’t do a lot for my lips. I do enjoy the tint that the baby lips provide but I feel that it’s only useful for that. It didn’t hydrate the lips, which lip balms are supposed to do. As well, it wears off easily and you have to reapply the product constantly. The product  also gets crackly, which looks terrible if you have drier lips. I’m just not a fan at all. Perhaps it would be different on other people, so try it out and let me know if you had the same issues as I did.

3. Benefit: Some Kind-a-Gorgeous (Medium): (Foundation Faker ) This is supposed to be a light foundation. This product looks very cakey which is a big no-no. I tried it on first without any face primer and it looked horrible, it showed all the fine lines. Especially underneath your eyes. Then I tried it with a primer and I still had the same issues. This product was just not working for me. In addition, it’s rather expensive for such a small product – close to $30.00CAD and it had an unusual smell to it (not in a pleasant one).

VS Mineral Powder 4. VS Mineral – Face Power: This product is not horrible, but it did not provide much either. I also felt that the shimmery part was to much for the face, even if you use the smallest amount you looked to shimmery. This product would be amazing for the Victoria Secret models who walk down the runway with non-stop flashing lights. However, if you are going out for the night with your friends or on a date you just end up looking like a disco ball.

LOreal Liquid Liner

5. L’Oreal Infallible Super Slim Liquid Liner: I kept hearing such amazing things about this product. I was reading reviews with people mentioning how they loved the precision, and the grip handle. These two qualities make it rather easy to apply liquid linear,  especially if your still practicing the technique. While I do agree with these statement, the only thing that really bothers me is the fact that it’s hard to get the product out. It dries out really quick and this was from the first day. At first I thought maybe I needed to have the product facing downward to let the product buildup, but that wasn’t the case at all. I love everything about it other then the actual product not dispensing out.
