1. Philosophy Hope in a Jar – This is a daily moisturizing creme for all skin types,I’ve heard such amazing things when it comes
to philosophy and I’m excited to try this product out.
2. Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist – Rebalancing rose scented mist meant for normal to combination skin types, you are
supposed to use it as a mist to rehydrate the skin.
3. Schwarzkopf BC Moisture Kick – Styling balm for the hair which also acts as a heat protector that is something I’m most
excited about just to get my hair styled appropriately. 4. Medusa Lip Gloss – this is just a basic pinkish red lip gloss with high shine. I’m not to sure how I feel about it because it may
be to glossy for my style but you never know.
I recently went a little bit crazy at Sephora, Winners and Target. I got some amazing new products that I want to try out so badly. First off this is my first time to get Sonia Kashuk products and I’m excited to try it out I’m thinking of doing a makeup look tomorrow for my night out with my girlfriend. I got a beautiful nude pink colour lip liner from Sonia Kashuk, which is a perfect lip colour for when you want a simple eye makeup look, especially for work. I also bought the tinted lip balm in a deep plum colour from Sonia Kashuk. I’m excited because that colour would work so pretty with the eye palette I got from Pixi. The eye palette is called Plum Quarts with hints of plum, pinky-nude, and cocoa shades.
From Sephora I bought the Glam Glow mask FINALLY, and its amazing. I tried it out right away and boy did it clean the pores on my nose amazingly. In addition, to the Glam Glow put the Tart Maracuja oil on at night before going to bed and your face is supple the next day, moisturized just glowing. Along with those I got the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara, it’s pretty good. It’s better at separating the eyelashes, I’m sure if I layered it on it would look fuller but thats not my style. Lastly, I decided to try the Formula X nail polish in the colour Dynamic (grey colour) and I can see what the fuss is about it lasts pretty long, and its a nice formula, easy to apply and drys quickly.
The last product that I wanted to try was the Co Lab dry shampoo, I got it in the Tropical smell, check out Essie Buttons empties product reviewing the Co Lab dry shampoo.
I think at the end of the day I’m definitely more of a drugstore kind of gal, as opposed to the high-end Sephora brands. Don’t get me wrong I love Sephora and all the products they have to offer, but it damages my wallet. So to make myself feel better I’d have to say drugstore is the way to go, and honestly you can find such amazing products at your local drugstore. Here is my list of products I’ve been wanting to try, and I’ve heard such amazing reviews on the product.
The first product I want to get and try out is the bronzer called Bahama Mama by The Balm. I don’t necessarily want this product for the sake of bronzing but I’ve heard it’s amazing for contouring. The Sunday Girl provides her review on this product, which I enjoyed reading. If you get a chance check out the blog, amazing reviews and photos of beauty product.
The next product that I want to try out, is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation this product caught my attention just by the fact that it says serum gel foundation. Bloggers and Youtube Beauty Guru’s just seem to love Bourjois products and I’ve always noticed the brand at my local Shoppers Drugmart (drugstore) but I never fully paid attention to it and I definitely should have. After trying out a concealer from them, I am absolutely in love with this brand. If the Healthy Mix concealer I tried is amazing then I have a feeling that this foundation might be just as great. My favourite blogger/youtuber Essie Button talks about the Bourjois products which includes this foundation. Click here to see her video.

The last product that I want to try probably the most from the other two is the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder, which is supposed to provide a matte finish with a natural healthy glow. And as I mentioned earlier I tried the Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer and I am in LOVE. I use it literally everyday, and it just blends with the skin wonderfully. The link I’ve mentioned up above speaks about this product as well.
It seems that I’m going Bourjois crazy, I just want it all. But for a drugstore it’s honestly an amazing brand, it can get on the expensive side a little bit but definitely not as bad as Sephora.

Let me know what drugstore product you have been wanting to try, I’d love to get some ideas myself for other products to hopefully try out.
The other day I saw this gorgeous creme lipstick by Bite at Sephora and I just had to buy it. The price for this dual ended lipstick was around $15 CAD, which is not to bad since the regular price for a regular lipstick is about $32 CAD. The two colours that I bought was Fig and Date, which are both on the pinkish in colour and are on the neutral side.
I definitely loved the lipstick, I loved that its exactly what it states in the name, creme lipstick. It goes on nice and smoothly and I love that it’s moisturizing. From the two colour my favourite colour would have to be the date. Its more on the pinkish side and seems to go with more of my looks that I wear. I’ve tried out this lip product for a week and the only downfall is that you definitely have to reapply if you eat food or drink liquids. Also by the end of the day it tends to have this crumbled pieces on your lips. But I’d have to say that the crumbling was after 8 hours, so it isn’t that bad.
Overall, would I repurchase this lipstick in a different colour, I’d say yes. The colour and the texture of the lipstick was wonderful and moisturizing which is definitely a key when I purchase a lipstick. If I can make a recommendation combine the fig colour with the L’Oreal Extraordinaire by colour riche in the colour Nude Ballet (picture down below).
Let me know if you have tried Bite lipsticks and if so what did you think of the product?
Can I just say how much I love BH cosmetics, such a reasonable price for amazing quality products. I’ve had the Special Occassion palette for about a month, and I’ve been wearing the eyeshadows almost everyday.
The Special Occassion palette has 39 eye shadows and 9 blush colours. Can I just say that these colours are just BEAUTIFUL. The palette contains beautiful browns, plum, purple, blue, silver and pink tones. The qualities of the shadows are just amazing, they go on perfectly, the lasting quality is about 8 hours. The blushes are just gorgeous colours, leave your skin looking flawless. The picture down below is of me wearing the blush colour combined with a highlighter. I can’t say anything but beautiful things about this palette. I think BH cosmetics is just amazing, and if you have the opportunity check out there website and try out a palette.
I don’t know about you but I absolutely love tea. I have tea for breakfast, tea for lunch even tea during dinner. There is something so calming about tea that you can’t resist making a cup and just getting comfortable on the couch. But I’m very specific about my teas and there are three particular tea’s that I found just work wonders for three particular reasons. Let me go through each tea and why I love to drink it.
Clipper Green Tea – this amazing green tea is something that I would have on a daily basis, it’s my go to tea. What’s amazing about green tea is that it has amazing benefits for you including boosting your metabolism, great for the mind, amazing antioxidants, and we know that antioxidants are important overall. This tea is so nice and light in flavour when you add a splash of sweetener it just tastes amazing, even as cold tea. That’s the reason why I love Clipper’s green tea the lightness of the tea.
Pukka Love Tea – organic rose, chamomile and lavender the hints in this tea and I love to drink this tea when I have upset stomach which I get quite often. If you didn’t know I have celiac disease and I’ve been recently diagnosed in September 2014 and during my process of changing to a gluten-free diet I still get stomach issues here and there. Thus, when I get those upset stomach days I love to drink this tea. Chamomile is definitely something you want to drink to calm those stomach pains. Pukka not only sounds and look adorable but has amazing hints of all three the rose, chamomile, and lavender. Definitely recommend this tea.
Davids Tea Organic Super Ginger – what can I say about this tea other then that it’s definitely gingery. Is that even a word, I don’t know but who cares I’m claiming it as a word. This tea is absolutely amazing to drink when you have that measly cold or flu. Ginger is simply AMAZING to drink or just to consume when your sick. It helps to kill off the bacteria that has taken over your body. I don’t drink this tea on a daily occasion but I do drink it when I get sick or if I feel a cold/flu is trying to sneak upon me. If you want the super ultimate fighting tea for colds then drink this tea.
After endless amount of time spent shopping on Etsy, I realized I have this weird obsession with ceramic. Once you move into your own place you have this vision of how you would love every part of your house to look like. And my particular obsession is the kitchen and making sure it looks amazing. My fiance has the living room and he has spent time decorating it and for me it’s my beautiful kitchen. Well I thought I’d share some of my top 5 favourite etsy shops, in particular for the house. Let me know if your etsy obsessed as I am and what part of the house you like decorating.
I don’t know if you are like me, but I have extremely dry skin. Especially on my knees and elbows, they are just beyond dry, and ashy. But for some reason I don’t really like body butters, I feel super oily afterwards and just sticky. Maybe I haven’t found the right body butter for me but I found something even better, and that is body oil. Now you are probably thinking well isn’t oil even more oiler for you? That is true some body oils can definitely do that but not these two. One of the oils is high-end while the other is a low-end product I’ve found to work amazingly. If you want to have soft, supple skin after your daily shower I’d recommend these two.
1. Caudalie Divine Body Oil – found this sample version at Sephora, I don’t recall the price for it but I know it wasn’t greatly expensive. The 1.7 oz bottle goes for $35 CAD at Sephora which is definitely on the pricy side but the good thing about this oil is that you only really need a little amount for it to do the purpose of moisturizing your skin and even hair. I personally only use it for my skin, because like I said I have super dry and sometimes irritated skin. I definitely love that it’s free of any parabens, sulfates and phthalates, so your body is really getting the nourishing aspects from the grapeseed, hibiscus, sesame, and argan oils. What an amazing combination of oils for your body.
2. nSpa Nourishing Oil – this oil was purchased at Wal-Mart for a measly $3 CAD. How dirt cheap is that and it does an absolutely amazing job of moisturizing the skin without making it oily instead it goes on like a cream but it stays soft and hydrating pretty much until your next shower. In addition, it has Rosehip oil and Vitamin E and A which are amazing for your skin to replenish itself. This oil is meant for stretch marks and it advertises for moms to be but I thought if it’s good for the mom it should definitely be good for me. Lastly, I absolutely love the smell of this oil it smells amazingly. Every time I shower I get super excited to put on this oil.
Now the difference between these two oils is that one is super hydrating, which would be the Caudalie. This oil I would use for a day that your having extremely dry skin or irritation on your skin just to calm the redness. While the nSpa oil I’d use for everyday purpose even if you don’t have stretch marks it’s still great to use to nourish the skin.
Let me know if you use body oils as well and which is your favourite brand to use.
The products up above are the products I use to to get voluminous but sleek straight hair. Trust me it is possible to get both.
These are the steps I take to get straight hair on a daily basis.
After I shower and have combed out my hair with a wide tooth comb, I take a dime size amount of Kerastase Chroma Riche leave-in oil. This oil is meant for colour-treated hair. It helps to control the frizz that you develop when you blow dry your hair. Then I proceed to blow dry my hair with a soft round paddle brush, this paddle brush is amazing for thick hair like mine. Once I have finished blow drying my hair, thats when I go and straighten my hair. The method to straightening hair but to develop amazing volume is to try and straighten as close as possible to the root. When you are about to pull along the hair make sure to lift up the root with the straightener, hold it for a second or so and then continue with straightening. That little lift will allow for some volume to develop on your hair. Thus, that’s how you develop the amazing volume to your hair even though you are straightening it.
Once I have fully straightened my hair, I use the CHI silk infusion oil to get my hair looking shiny, which leaves it with an amazing sheen to the hair. CHI silk infusion oil is not only an amazing oil to use after straightening but it also leaves your hair with an amazing scent. The last step to maintaining the volume that you have created is to use the ORIBE Dry Texturizing Spray. The dry texturizing spray is sprayed onto the roots, once you have sprayed your roots you set it with your fingers and give it a bit of a lift to the roots. This spray is amazing, it’s sort of like a hairspray but it doesn’t leave your hair crispy, you can run your fingers through the hair. It supposed to be an alternative to dry shampoo, but it’s meant to provide your hair with amazing volume.
Are you like me, where you just love organization. Doesn’t it just provide you with immense satisfaction knowing that everything you own has a place of it’s own. Well I am totally like that, I just love to organize anything in my apartment but especially my makeup. I recently went shopping on Amazon and found this amazing makeup organizer that I thought I would share with all of you and tell you what I thought.
The 3-drawer makeup organizer can be found at the following link. It was roughly $20 CAD, which isn’t to bad of a cost. Now you definitely pay for what you get and I’d say that for $20 this was a pretty good purchase. I can fit quite a few products in each drawer.
In the first drawer, I keep all of my facial products. Such as concealers, under eye concealers, foundation and my makeup sponge. The second drawer contains all of my mascaras, eyeliners, and lip liners. The last drawer contains my Coastal Scent concealer palette, my mini eyeshadow palettes, blushes, bronzers, and highlighters. On top of the drawers is supposed to be a lipstick holder which does contain a majority of my lip products but I do keep some other goodies that fit as well. The link to the lipstick holder is here. Which wasn’t quite expensive as well, approximately $5 CAD. For the price paid it does an amazing job and isn’t that cheap looking either.
The makeup brush holder is probably my favourite it’s so cute and inexpensive as well. I bought the holder from IKEA. It’s definitely a beautiful accent to your makeup organization.
Let me know what your makeup organization looks like. I love to see how people organize their products, I’m creepy like that.
