You Need To Try These Hair Products

img_1795

Hi Ya!

I know it’s been quite a while that I had posted anything. I’m telling you life became quite busy. Things started to become a lot, I unknowingly started my own business so I was and still am trying to figure that out which I shall keep you posted. Along with planning my wedding (details on that to follow on another post) and on top of it all having a life of course. So I unintentionally decided to take a break on the blogging aspect as my dedication for beauty and trying out different products diminished over the months. But now I am back at it again and I’ve had some time to think about what I would love to try and I’m always seeking for recommendations on the newest trends. As you can probably tell from the title this post will be dedicated to hair products as I’ve been enjoying and simply found them to work amazing for my hair.

Now that being said I cannot guarantee that you will love all the products I’m talking about or that it may work the best for your hair as well, but you can definitely alway try it out. If you have thick hair that has had a beating here and there then this could possibly be of interest to you. However, majority of these products I think would apply to any hair type and who knows it may actually work – you won’t know until you try. Something I alway recommend to my family and friends, if you aren’t sure whether the product will work on you, and you don’t want to commit spending a shit ton of money then the best is to purchase the mini/travel size and try that out. Usually it’s more then half the cost of what it would be for the full size. I do acknowledge that some brands may not offer that option – but if you aren’t sure always inquire regardless – it won’t hurt and if anything it will save you some money.

If you want advice or tips on styling, especially for thick hair like mine don’t hesitate to leave a comment.

img_17581. Bumble and Bumble Heat/UV Protective Primer

The Bumble and Bumble brand was something I noticed was quite popular and still is when it comes to the hair care world. Apart from loving the name, I’ve been enjoying using this product more than I expected and it’s become something I use pretty much every time I’m styling my hair with direct heat. This Heat protector makes my hair softer, smoother, silkier, and less tangled. As well, I do enjoy the scent it provides my hair – a settle scent that isn’t overpowering. I like to spray this on my hair before I’m going to apply heat, I spray a generous amount on my wet hair and comb it out to spread evenly. I’ll also spray on damp/semi-dry hair when I plan to straighten or curl my hair. I love that the smell doesn’t diminish after using heat on my hair, which I find with other heat protector it smells amazing when you spray initially and then it’s gone once you’ve styled your hair. I find that just frustrating.

2. ORIBEDry Texturizing Spray

I’m not sure if I mentioned this before but I cannot stand hairspray. I’ve tried various types of hairspray and I just can’t seem to get into it. Mind you I can’t complain, my hair is relatively compliant or I don’t care as much if I lose the style over the day. Regardless, sometimes I want my hair styling skills to last longer and even though this is a texturizing spray it works the same as a hairspray without feeling heavy or making your hair crispy… you know what I’m talking about. OH and can I mention the scent is heavenly. I’m very keen on scent… that is crucial to me.

img_1759

3. MoroccanoilDry Shampoo

Honestly, whoever thought of dry shampoo seriously you have changed the beauty world thats for sure. Either way I’ve been trying out different dry shampoo’s from Batiste, CO Lab, Fructise but I have to say the Moroccanoil is my favourite, the key factor being that they have an option for dark tone and light tone hair colour. Let’s be real if you could get the option to have it match your colour and less hassle of blending well I’ll take it. Also out of all the dry shampoos I’ve used this one has an awesome scent and it definitely lingers so your hair looks and has the fresh wash scent, SUCCESS.

4. Pearlessence Sea Spray Sea Salt

To be honest I was kind of surprised that I actually liked this product. I bought this out of whim, meaning I was standing in line waiting to pay for my other stuff and they always get to you by putting stuff along the way. But I’m not upset because it wasn’t overly expensive, I actually bought this spray at Winner’s for $12.99. I’m just not sure where else you can purchase this brand in Toronto, and with Winner’s it’s a hit or miss, products come and go. So this spray helps to define my curls without having to style with a curler, I just spray it when my hair is more on the damp side than purely wet, let it sit for a minute and then I just scrunch my hair with my hands and either do other stuff or if it’s before bedtime I would sleep on it … next day I have effortless and cute curls. However, the only thing I’m not sure about and I shall see how it works in the winter time. I feel it works best in the summer time when you have the option of air drying – in the winter I usually don’t prefer doing that. That will be my experiment.

img_1762

5. ORIBERun-Through Detangling Primer

I can definitely talk about Oribe products and this one I’ve been eyeing and finally decided to purchase, this is this the run-through detangling primer. I use this if I want to give my hair a nice shine and of course it helps to detangle my thick hair. The key factors that stand out about this is that it isn’t heavy on the hair at all and again the Oribe products just have the best scent, if I have to say Oribe definitely slays the award for best scent. It’s unique and I feel oddly enough sassy afterwards, can’t explain that.

img_1761

6. OUAIHair Treatment Masque

I don’t know about you but I’ve been hearing about OUAI this, OUAI that and I thought why not finally try it out. If I understood correctly OUAI is the new line from the celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin’s and of course if she’s dealing with celebrities it HAS to be the best, right? I guess so.. I’ve never been into hair masques, although I really should since I have thick and wavy/curly hair. And especially when it gets super cold here in Canada it definitely should be the number one product to use. Regardless, I tried this hair masque and I liked it. I purchased the 3 treatment packets just to see how it was and I liked how it made my hair afterwards. What I find is really a smart idea is the fact that you have individual packets as opposed to a whole jar and this is the allocated amount of product to use. Because masques are not meant to be overloaded, it’s just meant to provide you with the shine you’ve been missing. I can definitely see why people have been loving the OUAI products. The true test of awesomeness would be to see how her other products are.

Well those are my six products that I’ve been into recently, if you have any recommendations or if you have questions don’t hesitate to leave a comment.

Products To Try

I recently went window-online shopping at Sephora and they have a lot of awesome goodies that I want to try out so badly. Lets get to the list of products that I want to try out.

  1. NAKED – Smokey Eye Palette
NAKED Smokey Eye PaletteI love all the colours that they offer for this new palette, they look absolutely stunning and I can see some amazing combinations from this palette. When does Urban Decay disappoint, honestly.
  2. Sephora – Airbrush Concealer Brush #57
Sephora Airbrush Concealer BrushThis brush looks beautiful, and I’ve been really wanting a new concealer brush that one I have I don’t fully like. When I was in the store this brush looked like really good quality.
  3. YSL – Touche Eclat Blur Perfector
YSL Touche Eclat Blur PerfectorAs stated on Sephora “A blur perfector compact that perfects the skin while retaining its luminous glow”, who doesn’t want a little bit of glow to there skins.
  4. Origins – Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay
Origins Original Skin MaskAnything with rose in the name, you have got me. As well, it states “Pores appear to vanish and clarity is restored for a radiant, youthful-looking complexion that’s silky-smooth to the touch.” I definitely wouldn’t mind trying this mask out to see if my pores appear smaller, I definitely have that issue on my nose.
  5. YSL – Volupte Tint-In-Oil
YSL VolupteI would love to try the YSL, in the lip colour Undress Me 3, it looks to be a gorgeous colour. And I constantly hear amazing things when it come to YSL lip products. It’s definitely on the pricier side but if I just invest in the one colour that would be amazing.

REVIEW: CO-Lab Dry Shampoo

IMG_1415I’ve been watching Essie Button and I recall her mentioning the CO Lab Dry Shampoo in one of her favorites products, and I always love her recommendations. The CO Lab dry shampoo in the scent RIO Tropical is what I got, and it definitely smells like the name, which is tropical. It’s a stronger smell so I love that about it because if you have 2nd day hair and you want to refresh the hair it’s perfect in doing so. It’s has a light texture to the spray it doesn’t leave it white, like a lot of other dry shampoos do, such as Batiste.

This product seems similar to the ORIBE Dry texturizing spray which I absolutely love. Expect the price of the CO Lab in comparison to the ORIBE is much cheaper. The ORIBE is around $42 CAD for the big bottle while I paid $7.99 CAD for the CO Lab at Winners. And its roughly the same size so similar in quantity.

If I could recommend a dry shampoo I think this one is definitely better then the famous Batiste at an affordable price for the quantity received.

Leave a comment with your favorite dry shampoo that you like to use and the reason(s).

Favourite Cheap-Online Shopping Websites

I always love to see where people buy from, especially from online websites.
I’ve recently noticed that I’ve been loving stuff from these three sites, and these are my top three websites that are cheap, affordable prices, beautiful clothes and pretty good quality.

  1. SheInside.com
Green Long Sleeve Pockets DressNavy Sleeveless Ruffle Dress
  2. Romwe.com
Black Polka Dot BlouseBlue Sleeveless Floral Dress
  3. AliExpress.com
Artsun Summer DressBlue Sleeveless Party Dress

I’ve shopped at all these stores and absolutely love what they have to offer. Such unique but yet simplistic which is definitely what I love. Up above are some of the pictures from the website that offer amazing clothing options, and is a bit of a sneak peak into what each website offers.

Top 4 Mascaras

Hello Everyone,

I’ve recently noticed that there are four (4) main mascaras that I’ve really been loving and using on a daily basis and just love everything about these products. Here are the four I’ve been into…

Buxom Lash Mascara (High-End)FullSizeRender (1)
I love that this product doesn’t clump up your lashes at all, and what’s funny is that I was definitely worried that the big wand would actually do that. I find that these bristles are perfect for grabbing all of the lashes and really pulling them along. This product last quite long, I know you shouldn’t have your mascara for long but this one is still in good standing.
Score: 9/10
Price: $24 (Sephora)

L’Oreal – Voluminous Million Lashes  (Low-End) FullSizeRender (4)This mascara definitely does what it says, VOLUME. I love the bristles, they are short and don’t move intensely so once again you can grab all the lashes. What I also love is that for a big bristle it seems to work perfectly for my fair and sparse lashes. The formula is also good, its not to wet but also drys a bit slowly so its easy to work with.
Score: 8/10
Price: ~ $12-14 (Shoppers Drug Mart)

Dior – Maximizer Lash Plumping (High-End)

FullSizeRender (3)
What can I say about this base mascara, is that I LOVE it. It’s a perfect base for your mascara and it doesn’t leave them white at all. I got this one as a sample when I was at the Dior counter, and I fell in-love with it. I’ve been using this every time I put on my mascara. It helps to set your lashes so that way when you put on the actual mascara it’s already set in place and the sole purpose is to darken the lashes.
Score: 8.5/10
Price: $36 (Sephora)

Covergirl – Clump Crusher (Low-End)

FullSizeRender (2)This mascara isn’t fully black, its actually black-brown. I always love to have that option in my mascaras for the days that I don’t want intense black lashes, usually for work. Again some of my favourites from this mascara is the bristles, the formula is nice and smooth. Definitely doesn’t give you any clumps, the formula is a little more on the wet side so you have to be careful when applying. I would definitely recommend this low-end mascara.
Score: 9/10
Price: ~$8-9 (Shoppers Drug Mart)

I would love to hear what some of your favourite mascaras and the recommendations, I’m always interested in trying something new. Please leave a comment.

Bedtime Routine

Hello Everyone,

This is generally my routine before I go to bed in the evening that helps me wind down and relax before going to sleep. Now everyone has there own thing that they do to help them have a good nights rest. The number one thing that is important is to have an amazing bedding sheets. I recently discovered an amazing store that provides amazing bedding that I feel would be a wonderful contribution to your bedroom. Parachute provides gorgeous bedding settings and even beautiful decor for your bedroom. They stick to a very basic setting style which I feel is adaptable to the style or theme you are going with. Please check out there website to see what they have to offer.

But here are some things I love to do before going to sleep …

Its important to have comfortable pillows and lots of them 🙂 the more the better I feel.

IMG_1754

Another great tip I can offer is to drop a couple drops of Lavender essential oil onto your bedsheets and pillows a couple hours before sleep to let it sink in. Lavender essential oil is known as a calming factor. The health benefits of lavender essential oil includes the ability to eliminate nervous tension, relieve pain, disinfect the scalp and skin, enhance blood circulation and treat respiratory problems, it’s pretty awesome.

FullSizeRender (1)Lastly, reading a great book helps the body to calm down, get your mind off of issues/problems that you have and let you escape into another world. My current summer favourite book is On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves. This book is just beautiful and enticing, I would definitely recommend it.

These of just some of the things that help me relax before going to bed, I would love to hear what your bedtime routine is please leave a comment down below. Also please remember to check out Parachute and see if there are any bedtime sheets that interest you.

Have a great weekend!

High End ♥ Beauty Products

FullSizeRender (4)
Recently it was my engagement photo session with my partner and I decided to get my makeup done by someone from the Dior counter and when you get your makeup done you have to buy three beauty products to technically get your makeup done for free. Well I didn’t mind that at all I loved that I got to buy some Dior products. Here are some of the products I bought and I even got samples 🙂

  • Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm – can I just say I LOVE this lip balm. It sucks that you have to use your fingers to apply so for sanitary purpose not so good but it makes your lips silky smooth.
  • Dior Lip Maximizer Volume lip plumper – makes those smackers look plump
  • Dior Rouge Brilliant Lip Gloss – its not in the photo but its a beautiful colour called Swan. I’ve put a picture underneath of the colour. Its a beautiful neutral colour with a hint of colour to it.
    covers_sku-Y0773250-F077325263
The samples I got were quite amazing, the first one is the Dior Addict perfume which smells so fresh, light and simple I LOVE the smell I think I’m going to buy the actual bottle size, they definitely got me. I also got the lash primer sample which you put on before you put your mascara on and it actually works to separate the lashes and prep them. Lastly, I have the One Essential Intense Skin serum  it is helpful for restoring skin’s luminosity. I haven’t tried it yet so I’ll definitely do a review on it.

But those are some of the things I got from Dior counter and so far LOVING all of them except one, because I didn’t actually try the product.

Here is a picture of the makeup from the shoot.

Must Have Products – April 2015

FullSizeRender (1)I recently went a little crazy and bought some products that I have been using like a mad woman for the month of April. These are some of the products that I would suggest you try yourself.

The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer / $23 / Shoppers Drug Mart – awesome bronzer you only really need a little bit for contouring the face
L’Oreal Infallible Setting Spray / $12 /  Shoppers Drug Mart – awesome spray to spray onto your brushes to get pigmented eyeshadow colours as well for setting the makeup in place.
NYX – Golden Bronze /$1 / Shoppers Drug Mart – beautiful colour gets the smokey eye effect and it looks beautiful on brown eyes but I’m sure its great for all eye colours. Beautiful deep bronze colour. The lasting effect is outstanding and smudges due to its creamy consistency.
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara / $12 / Shoppers Drug Mart – amazing mascara provides volume without clumping at all at least for my eyelashes. Love the look it gave to my eyes made my lashes look outstanding.
Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls Highlighter / $14 / Shoppers Drug Mart – provides outstanding highlight to the cheekbone and anywhere else. Much more loose powder then expected so you need very little amount. I’d say this is best for fair skin because of how light in colour it is.

Those are my favourite must have for the month of April that I used consistently and absolutely loved. Let me know if you tried any of these products and what you thought.

L’Oreal BB Cream Review

IMG_1442
I got the most random purchase a week ago and it’s been the best purchase and the item that I needed for my issue with redness. I don’t have redness from acne but instead I just get red just from movement. It is something rather annoying but I’m happy I got this product. The L’Oreal Anti-Redness BB cream and at first I definitely had my hesitation as to it actually working. But I find that this product definitely helps to reduce the redness, especially for my cheek area. I’d say this product is extremely similar to the Stila One Step Correct but a cheaper version.  But still an amazing product and does the job that its supposed to.  I would definitely recommend this product if you have extreme redness and want to counter act that redness.

Pixi Eye Mesmerizing Mineral Palette Review

IMG_1413I recently show you all that I bought the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Eye Palette in the beautiful colours called plum quartz. I got the palette on sale at my local Target so the price of it wasn’t expensive, it was around $9 CAD. With this palette in particular there were actually a couple things that I really liked about it, and only one con but it isn’t necessarily a big deal. However, lets get to the pros and the con for the shadows.

PROS

  • The pigmentation is outstanding – recommendation is to wet the sponge applicator making the colours glide on smoothly
  • The shadows are long lasting, it was good for around 8 hours (regular work day)
  • All of the colours are beautifully made to all go together, whether it’s for a day or a nighttime look
  • The price is relatively cheap so it doesn’t hurt the wallet
  • Perfect amount of eyeshadow colours for a beginner with makeup

CONS

  • You need quite a bit of the product to be able to see the colour

Thus, if you are a beginner when it comes to makeup and aren’t sure which colours to get I’d definitely recommend you stick to neutrals at first easier to play around with, without it looking to much on the eyes. But I’d recommend if you could buy the Pixi palette because the colours they have are just beautiful, but then again this palette did appeal to my taste and style preference.

If you have tried the Pixi eye shadow palette, I’d love it if you would leave a comment and let me know what you thought about the palette.

1. Philosophy Hope in a Jar – This is a daily moisturizing creme for all skin types, I’ve heard such amazing things when it comes
to philosophy and I’m excited to try this product out.

2. Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist – Rebalancing rose scented mist meant for normal to combination skin types, you are
supposed to use it as a mist to rehydrate the skin.

3. Schwarzkopf BC Moisture Kick – Styling balm for the hair which also acts as a heat protector that is something I’m most
excited about just to get my hair styled appropriately.

4. Medusa Lip Gloss – this is just a basic pinkish red lip gloss with high shine. I’m not to sure how I feel about it because it may
be to glossy for my style but you never know.

Sephora & Winners Haul

1. Sonia Kashuk Lip Liner – Pink Whisper
2. Glam Glow
3. Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil
4. Sonia Kashuk Tinted Lip Balm – Hint of Berry
5. Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
6. Pixi Eye Mesmerizing Mineral Palette Plum Quartz
7. Formula X Nail polish – Dynamic
8. Co Lab Dry Shampoo – Tropical

I recently went a little bit crazy at Sephora, Winners and Target. I got some amazing new products that I want to try out so badly. First off this is my first time to get Sonia Kashuk products and I’m excited to try it out I’m thinking of doing a makeup look tomorrow for my night out with my girlfriend. I got a beautiful nude pink colour lip liner from Sonia Kashuk, which is a perfect lip colour for when you want a simple eye makeup look, especially for work. I also bought the tinted lip balm in a deep plum colour from Sonia Kashuk. I’m excited because that colour would work so pretty with the eye palette I got from Pixi. The eye palette is called Plum Quarts with hints of plum, pinky-nude, and cocoa shades.

From Sephora I bought the Glam Glow mask FINALLY, and its amazing. I tried it out right away and boy did it clean the pores on my nose amazingly. In addition, to the Glam Glow put the Tart Maracuja oil on at night before going to bed and your face is supple the next day, moisturized just glowing. Along with those I got the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara, it’s pretty good. It’s better at separating the eyelashes, I’m sure if I layered it on it would look fuller but thats not my style. Lastly, I decided to try the Formula X nail polish in the colour Dynamic (grey colour) and I can see what the fuss is about it lasts pretty long, and its a nice formula, easy to apply and drys quickly.

The last product that I wanted to try was the Co Lab dry shampoo, I got it in the Tropical smell, check out Essie Buttons empties product reviewing the Co Lab dry shampoo.

Drugstore Wishlist Products

Bahama Mamma

Bahama Mama – The Balm

I think at the end of the day I’m definitely more of a drugstore kind of gal, as opposed to the high-end Sephora brands. Don’t get me wrong I love Sephora and all the products they have to offer, but it damages my wallet. So to make myself feel better I’d have to say drugstore is the way to go, and honestly you can find such amazing products at your local drugstore. Here is my list of products I’ve been wanting to try, and I’ve heard such amazing reviews on the product.

The first product I want to get and try out is the bronzer called Bahama Mama by The Balm. I don’t necessarily want this product for the sake of bronzing but I’ve heard it’s amazing for contouring. The Sunday Girl provides her review on this product, which I enjoyed reading. If you get a chance check out the blog, amazing reviews and photos of beauty product.
The next product that I want to try out, is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation this product caught my attention just by the fact that it says serum gel foundation. Bloggers and Youtube Beauty Guru’s just seem to love Bourjois products and I’ve always noticed the brand at my local Shoppers Drugmart (drugstore) but I never fully paid attention to it and I definitely should have. After trying out a concealer from them, I am absolutely in love with this brand. If the Healthy Mix concealer I tried is amazing then I have a feeling that this foundation might be just as great. My favourite blogger/youtuber Essie Button talks about the Bourjois products which includes this foundation. Click here to see her video.

Bourjois Healthy Foundation

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation

The last product that I want to try probably the most from the other two is the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder, which is supposed to provide a matte finish with a natural healthy glow. And as I mentioned earlier I tried the Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer and I am in LOVE. I use it literally everyday, and it just blends with the skin wonderfully. The link I’ve mentioned up above speaks about this product as well.

It seems that I’m going Bourjois crazy, I just want it all. But for a drugstore it’s honestly an amazing brand, it can get on the expensive side a little bit but definitely not as bad as Sephora.

Let me know what drugstore product you have been wanting to try, I’d love to get some ideas myself for other products to hopefully try out.

Review: Bite Lipstick

Bite LipstickThe other day I saw this gorgeous creme lipstick by Bite at Sephora and I just had to buy it. The price for this dual ended lipstick was around $15 CAD, which is not to bad since the regular price for a regular lipstick is about $32 CAD. The two colours that I bought was Fig and Date, which are both on the pinkish in colour and are on the neutral side.

I definitely loved the lipstick, I loved that its exactly what it states in the name, creme lipstick. It goes on nice and smoothly and I love that it’s moisturizing. From the two colour my favourite colour would have to be the date. Its more on the pinkish side and seems to go with more of my looks that I wear. I’ve tried out this lip product for a week and the only downfall is that you definitely have to reapply if you eat food or drink liquids. Also by the end of the day it tends to have this crumbled pieces on your lips.  But I’d have to say that the crumbling was after 8 hours, so it isn’t that bad.

Overall, would I repurchase this lipstick in a different colour, I’d say yes. The colour and the texture of the lipstick was wonderful and moisturizing which is definitely a key when I purchase a lipstick. If I can make a recommendation combine the fig colour with the L’Oreal Extraordinaire by colour riche in the colour Nude Ballet (picture down below).

Let me know if you have tried Bite lipsticks and if so what did you think of the product?
